About
My name is Amy Hayes and I recently moved to Austin, Texas, from London.
I started this blog out of the sheer joy of learning static trapeze starting at the age of 35 in 2008. Aerial arts have become a full-fledged obsession, and I’ve expanded my training and skills into include doubles trapeze and most recently vertical rope (aka corde lisse, aerial rope, blah blah blah. Every apparatus has multiple names.)
Aerial is everything to me; it’s an art form, a hobby, social time, fitness and simply doing some so unique that most people don’t even know what it is.
I’ve spent a ridiculous amount of time trolling the internet for resources to learn as much as I possibly can about this amazing art form. This blog is a combination of things I’ve learned that might be useful to you, plus progress on my own training.
The obsession has led me to become a first-time small business owner of Sky Candy Austin alongside three other incredible individuals that I have the privilege of calling friends and business partners. Our goal is to share our love and adoration of this beautiful artform with everyone while showing you don’t have to be a member of Cirque du Soleil to participate.
